Shanghai Expo 2010 Tips?

Hey all. Tomorrow, I'm headed for the Expo! I'd appreciate it greatly if I can obtain some insight on tips and pointers for taking pictures there. I have a kit lens and a Tokie 11-16 to my disposal, as those are the only lenses I brought along to China.

Should I only bring the ultra-wideangle? I hear theft is a problem in busy areas like this.

I'm also taking the scenic cruise around the expo at night. I hope to pick up a gorrillapod zoom or a tripod to use while on the ship to reduce handshake, but what about the movement of the boat itself?

Tripods are useless on a boat/ship, I have taken shots at night on board a ship of oilrigs on a very still night which turned out ok, albiet a slight blur as the ship, "dipped", the water was like a millpond but boats still move, hold the camera steady on the ships rail/bulwark. H

Let me know how the 50RMB hotdogs taste like Theft is a problem, try to keep your stuff infront of you and clutch your wallet at all times.

I got one for 20 RMB... the bread is stale, the sauces were solid by the time it was served, and the meat was... crunchy?

Eh.

But I got great pictures on the boat!!

Glad to hear that. Movement on the boat is unavoidable when you are on the boat to take pictures. But you did it. Amazing! seems like you already have a nice trip in Shanghai. cheers
