Once the word got spread that there was a rare sighting of a group of Long-Eared Owls hanging out in this sanctuary, the frenzy started. This is a typical shot of what goes on around here. I truly enjoy the social aspect of Birdography and most of the people are wonderful. However, on occasion we get some inconsiderate folks. The Audubon society eventually had to put up signs and rope off areas to keep people from going into the brush (everyone is required to stay on the paths). There was also some photographers using flash.
The Birdographers in this photo were and are responsible; I see several of them often. One of them I follow on Flickr and has done well in some photo contests bmse most often using 7d mk I and II with the reliable old 400mm 5.6 L lens.
