Shoot with High School Crush!

Was she really funny?

jk 1-3 are good. She has a wide face and the straight on light makes her face look even wider. Maybe try a different pose or light style.

Is a wide face a bad thing?

Depends on who you ask. The first bunch of shots had more of a defined cheekbone which was more dynamic. The others flattened out any hint of cheeks and made it look to be one seamless tone.

I would stay away from any type of fabric backdrop. They always show wrinkles and creases....Paper backdrop FTW.

Consider interacting with her during the shoot more too. All the girls these days want that "fierce-im-a-model" look but you show more skill as a photog when you can get them to smile (This is sometimes the hardest part of photography)

Oh I did. Haha, we have some really silly shots that I've kept just to laugh at :) But the theme for this shoot was fierce, so the "fierce-im-a-model" look is kinda what we were going for. Especially once you see what I've been working on the past few days. Stay tuned! :D

So are you still friendzoned?

Oh haha, I never had a chance with her. She had a boyfriend at the time, and I've lost interest. That was like four years ago?

However, that's not to say if she were to make some moves on me I would resist :P

In the meantime, I've got some good pictures! :)

Her skin needs smoothed or unclarified a bit and her eyes need to be a hair sharper. But that's just my 2 cents.

Depends on what you are looking for. There are many way to slim a model through the way that you pose them. This has to be assessed carefully for each person. You always want to observe your model from all sides, right side view, right 2/3 view, straight ahead, left 2/3 view, and left side view. A slight angling of the head up or down can make a dramatic difference too given your lighting set up and the shadowing cast from it.

Also, the goose bumps in the the last pic distract me. gotta turn up the heat!
