did you use a spacial flash on the first one? They look good.

No flash was used in the first one. It was actually quite dark, which is why I went with the 30 sec exposure.

Have you tried a crop of the first with the ladder off center? Maybe cutting out the pipe on ther right side. What kind of tripod are you using?
