Yes, mine is noisy as well, when OS is on. I got used to it. A minor thing.

I looked up the noise OS makes, and it seems normal. I was just having a flashback to the crunchy sound my brother's camera had when he dropped his lens in the sand...thanks for the help!

The OP was talking about shutter counts. You know, another one of those useless selling techniques that mean absolutely nothing since lenses don't have shutters.
