Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 DC Zoom

I'm trying my damnedest to get an advance test on the new Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 zoom lens. What a great piece of glass if it delivers the goods.

Wonder why the other manufacturers never tried making something similar. A real coup for Sigma to push the boundaries and design a lens that is so fast through such a focal length.

Anyone out there been lucky to have a play with one as yet?

Think it will be brilliant to use in a wedding situation, especially as available light is my thing.

The folks at dPreview have had a pre-production one, and I think the PetaPixel or CameraLabs (I think it was CameraLabs) website crew was also given a pre-production sample. BOTH websites had good things to say about the 18-35mm f/1.8. It is a real coup for Sigma, beating the big boys to the punch. The price is also better than many people had expected, so that's a plus as well.
