No. TONS of people own it. $600 is about the going price for the lens. The HSMI is great. Has slight CA issues, focus breathing, and is good stopped down to F/4 at all focal lengths. The HSMII is great in just about all aspects, has superb focusing to the first and all Tamron models, and has solved the focus breathing for the most part. The HSMII OS is superior to all of them, and higher in price because of it. So, I don't know which version you're talking about, but that's what my research over the past few years have shown me. Hope this helped.

It's going at about $900 new. Good price. I have the OS version, but shoot with a girl who has that one and LOVES it.
