Sigma HSM 30mm f/1.4

Just got this lens the other day... no focus issues at all.

Photo made at f/1.4 / ISO 400 (Nikon D60). It focused perfectly. I either got a good one or their quality control is in check.

I couldn't bring myself to buy this lens for it's mediocre image quality. Granted it's f/1.4 but even when it's stopped down quite considerably the sharpness never approached an acceptable level unless you looked in the dead centre of the image.

Honestly I'd expect much more from a prime lens and would rather wait it out to see what future releases may be in stall. I borrowed this lens off a friend and in the end settled for the Nikkor 28mm f/2.8

I hear what you are saying, but since I'm using the D60...the Sigma was basically my only choice (if I wanted full compatibility). I'm happy with it for now...as I am just getting back into photography after about 10 years away from it.
