G'day all

In many small towns across Oz, selected artists have made grain silos their canvas on many occasions. This image is from the village of Bute, population maybe 200, and the artwork brings visitors from across the country to admire this -and others along the 'Silo Art Trail' as it meanders across the outback

exif- Panny FZ-2500; 1/1600s x F4,5; ISO-125; lens at 2x zoom / 45mm FFequiv

As always, feedback welcome
Phil

Nice shot. The artwork is a circlarama. I always wonder how artists manage this sort of thing given how high the structure is and that at some stage they must have to stand back to view progress.

G'day John

Here's 2 cropped / close-ups showing what they get up to ~ sort of amazing fine detail on such a large 'canvas'

Here in the UK in many towns and cities, we get street art sometimes occupying a whole huge wall. It's better in my opinion than leaving these walls looking old and decrepit....:onthego:

Hi Jeff

Same here - and it tends to keep the graffiti taggers away also

Nice shot and artwork.

Nice shot. I love these silo murals. have you seen the one on the Wellington Dam Wall here in Western Australia?

Phil they are amazing murals.
Never seen them in the flesh, only on TV and others posting.
Have you any more to share?

I'm about to start a thread on our murals at Sheffield
