Cute portrait, natural, good tones, nice expression ... on the downside : high lights are burned out, and I would have gone for a vertical shot. The bright spot in the background is distracting.

nicely focused, reasonable exposure, nice expression.
As said before, there is a lot of empty space on either side that doesn't help anything
IMO, the real problem is the overhead light that darkens his eye sockets and the coolness of the light.

Post processing could really help it out like the traveler has done. Looks like the focus might be more at the ear than the eyes also but I'm on my laptop not sure...
