At least I got a neat picture out of it.

The place you buy your tickets from and enter from is usually higher up than the actual tracks. Some stations provide a view looking over the tracks, others don't.


As for the picture, nice angle! The people seem a bit underexposed though.
At first, I thought I would see someone who jumped in the tracks on your image.

Yes, it's the metro station in DC. I believe that was the woodley/adams morgan stop. The area you're looking at is a cross over point. Then again maybe the stop was metro station since there's 2 different levels of tracks? hmmmm I don't remember.
