Hey, thanks for sharing. Not beating about the bush.

1. In relation to photo 1, if the subject is meant to be the skating rink, I don't think you needed to include within the frame 1/3 of the buildings at the top of the shot. Its just a load of flags and windows that add nothing. The action is on the rink after all

2. The second photo consists of three elements. The first is a band of people at the top of the shot, some with their heads missing and all with their backs turned. Nothing for me to be interested in. The second elements are the two people at the bottom of the frame. Again, backs turned, so no interest, but at least they have their heads. Third element is the white ice although this adds no interest.

3. Third photo I enjoy. Focuses on the rink, it's busy and my eye won't settle but this is good...because I have lots of faces to enjoy. The mono conversion is good because it makes the most of the third element (whiteness) and adds contrast. All three elements working well.

So, to my eye the first two shots are weaker although The third is very good.
