Trying out black and white, not as dramatic as I was looking but then again it's a pretty chill scene ...

Your photo is "more white to the left and more black to the right" both, your subject and the background. Busy background.
Try to tone down the background, to make the dog pop up.

Good angle, but I would move myself a bit to the left.

You might as well think about re shooting. To find more pleasing background, without doors and chairs and table. That would be better option.
