not sure why he was on the ground, but when i poked him he flew away

Neat circumstance to get a non-typical photo, and nice job on the exposure & DOF.
Were you looking for C&C or just general comments? No mention either way in your posts.

If C&C is desired, here's my $0.02 -- the wood behind the bird distracts from the bird itself. If you were able to do so, shooting it from a different angle (a few steps to the right or left, either way), or even shooting it in portrait might have made for a better image.

If C&C was not requested, please ignore the last sentence.

Good shot like black sheep wrote tho, I feel that if you moved to the right or left (preferably left) I think it would have been a better shot bc I know it's a bird but on first look I can't make out whats going on.
