I usually prefer to use a hand strap on my Canon Rebel SLRs, but I find that many small cases don't have a large enough top opening for the camera with the hand strap. I want a small case (already have a large sling and backpack), even one that was just big enough for a pancake lens would be fine, as long as the camera can be quickly stashed and retrieved with the hand grip. If it doesn't have room for the neck strap, that's OK, too.
The intended purpose is for carrying a camera with me on every day trips where I don't want to carry a big bag. The lighter and smaller the better, while still allowing a medium-size SLR with a hand strap. Any suggestions?
Another possibility is to get a leather or neoprene wrap that would help protect the camera when it was around my neck without a case, so suggestions for those would also be welcome. Thanks!
