Sneezeweed

One of the prettier Autumn wildflowers. Native Americans made a snuff out of the dried leaves/flowers in order to cause sneezing in an attempt to cure colds. Had to have been messy....On a more poetic note, the flowers were said to spring up where ever Helen of Troy's tears fell to the ground; hence the latin name Helenium autumnale.

You find it near water; in this case it was Sayer's Lake.
