Snipe Hunting

As a kid, Snipe hunting was something all the older kids took the younger kids out after dark to do. A joke, an excuse to leave the younger kids out in the dark alone. I had no idea that a Snipe is an actual real bird. I move to Wyoming and I find out that Snipes are real, and you can in fact hunt them. Apparently the bird is so hard to shoot that that is where the word Sniper comes from.

So... this spring, I'm trekking out to Seedskadee Wildlife Park to find this elusive bird and prove to my Easterner friends, that Snipes are real! And no, the natives aren't playing a joke on me... Snipes are actually listed in the wildlife guide and it states hunting season times.

LOL, for something so stupid, I am stupidly giddy about it.

Ever been Snipe hunting... for a joke or for real?

It's an elaborate plot to get photographers out in the wild for days on end searching for something that they will never see. They do the same thing with the Bigfoot stuff. Happy hunting.
