Out for a stroll yesterday with a 70-200mm f/4 on 5DMKII just to pass the time, and caught these:

Perhaps they would have been better recieved in the Macro Forum because wow, fantastic set!
2 and 3 are stunning (hmmmm... maybe your assessment was right afterall? ;) )

I like the last one best.

Very nice set, Buckster! I would love a chance to shoot one of those moths!

Thanks everyone!

You're probably right, and I actually thought to do that, then changed my mind because of one stray thought: I shot them with a 70-200mm and cropped, rather than shooting them at true 1:1 macro with a proper macro lens. Seems dumb to make the distinction, now that I think about it! LOL!

All my macro shots are taken with an 18-200 and cropped.... but shhhh don't tell anyone ;)

Great shots! When I first saw them I couldn't believe they hadn't been shot with a macro lens!

Buckster, just a great set. Love pics 1 & 4. Talk about a brilliant blue sky, and the Yellow of the flower is about as vibrant as it van get.

Just remember that it's the end results that count, not necessarily how you got there.
