Sometimes I forget how hard it is to get a shot like this. How long were you hiking to get in that position?

Probably about an hour and a half. I was hiking with the group seen in the photo. I had to let the group go on without me so I could take this shot!

I heard someone else mention this on this site.

It is kind of fun and makes the shot interesting to know a little about the shot (other than metadata).

1 1/2 hours up, and who knows how long to get down. Sounds like it was an all day affair. Nice job.

That's an idea. I need to get this group back together and go on another snowshoeing hike, so I can see what that would look like!

Well, obviously there are some things you can do and things you can't do. I didn't know if it was a crop of a larger shot that maybe you can try a different way. Just my opinion.

I liked your idea! I was just wishing that it was a crop of a larger shot, but unfortunately it wasn't. That photo was the original view. Once you said your comment, I was wishing I could see more of the view too!

Yeah, text can mean a lot of different things sometimes. The hike was great! If you are ever in Washington, you should definitely pay Mt. Rainier a visit.
