Nice set!

These are not bad. My only comment is that, for me at least the crop is a little tight, particularly in #3. I always like to give my subjects a little room to breath or some room to move (rule of thirds). I would also like to see a bit more "feather detail" in the first two. White birds are hard to photograph and capture the detail in their feathers as your camera often tends to overexpose them a bit, thus you lose detail. The detail in #3 is good.

Totally agree. I'm going to play with 1 and 2 to see if I can get anymore out of them I really like the reflection in 2. I also need to try to pull the color in his foot up some. Love those bright yellow feet!

[BillM]

I really like #3, it is the sharpest of the set. In #2 it looks like you could be back focused as the body is sharp but the head is not.

Accomplished that the other day. I remember taking that shot today and it was from my truck and I pushed the shutter release and moved. Totally my fault and learned a valuable lesson from it. I love this forum everyone has been so helpful. Learning techniques, my camera, lens. Just gonna keep learning and shooting. One day I will offer great advice like so many on here. Can't wait to put myself to the test at an airshow coming up in June. Blau Angels and the breitling jet team. As a pilot I'm stoked!

My father spent 21 years in the Navy so every year we watched the Blue Angels. We lived so close to the base, US Naval Air Station - South Weymouth MA, we could watch from our back yard lol

And I wear Breitling

[C. Brian Kerr]

Bill, come on down in June for a great weekend. + first time breitling jet team will be in the USA. I got tossed from the Navy on a medical!!

Heading to San Antonio in June, stupid user conference. But I will get a chance to see the Alamo and their zoo

Just need to decide what gear to bring with me.

If you get near Dallas, visit the zoo, they just had a new born giraffe 1 week ago. Watched it live on animal planet
