Snowy Owl

[PJM]

This lady was a little more cooperative than the last few. Critique not required, I know my screw-ups.

That these are visible in your area saddens my nordic heart!

Beautiful! I’m glad she decided to cooperate! More owls, please.

Very nice set but number three for me.....

Nice set! I agree, #3.

Nice set, Pete, she's a real beauty. I like some surroundings with my pics if they look good so I prefer #1.

But they go home again as spring approaches.

Thank you. I will be chasing the short-eared owl next.

Thanks. It's the closest I've gotten to one. I wish it had been more in the wild rather than sitting on a roof

Thanks.

Thanks. I like that one too. She was still a bit far off in that one but at least she was facing in a better direction for the shot.

But they go home again as spring approaches.

This is most uncertain. In "normal" nordic climat, the approach
of Spring is at greater latitudes. The later decades, with their
warmer temperatures, have forced them to explore new feeding
grounds and rushed the migration north to way earlier date. Ma-
ny youngsters did not have the time to learn the old routes and
ways and may never have the time to.
