There have been a few people here who have done underwater photography, but since it requires specialized equipment, those are few.

My thoughts exactly, its one of the most expensive forms, generally also as I find most photographers don't live near world class dive spots...

Not necessarily expensive and photo ops are everywhere, not just some exotic island. I started out with just a cheap P&S film cam in the 90's and took these while visiting my Grandparents in Florida.

These are from a local freshwater lake.

My favorite US destination is the California Coast

But you really don't have to go that far to play with the "Big Boys"

Here are a couple. Unfortunately my underwater gear isn't up to the level I'd like it, but I can't justify the big bucks when I only get diving in a good location once a year or so.

I went to scoop for mechanical engineering but I still just dream about building an underwater care at least for one of my point and shoots. I hunk one of the biggest concerns ofnphotographers is the fact that no one wants to damage there equipment.

Both come from shipwrecks in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.

The Comet is a paddlewheeler.
I have dove on this many times and it is an excellent shipwreck to look at (I hopefully like to get a housing for my camera one day).

The second appears to be a number of different wrecks ...

For all you that are tropical divers ... there is nothing better than a fresh water wreck (except for the zebra mussels).
