I like the falls part of the picture, but the totally blown out sky is too distracting. It has even burned out detail in the trees. I would have metered for the highlights and then brought the shadows up in processing.

You are 100% right Jim. Here is an initial attempt to fix it...I'm still learning...

Oh yes, much, much better. That's a beautiful scene. I'm still learning too. I'd love to have access to a waterfall and try my hand at something like this. What I would like to try doing is taking 2 exposures, one long one like this and another with a much faster shutter speed to capture the trees and bushes without movement. Then use Photoshop to blend the 2 exposures to make the plant life sharply detailed and the falls smooth and milky like yours.
