Softbox Shenanigans (and a bit of Streetfighter)

Well, I got a big fawkin' softbox in the mail today. So I figured I should give it a whirl. It's a Paul C Buff 30 x 60 inch softbox that I put on my AB800. I just went outside, set it up, and took a few shots. It was pretty fun and my girlfriend seemed to enjoy it.

Heh, I'm looking at getting a PCB softbox. Either that or an Octa. You feel like it was worth the investment? I've got 2 AB800's and a couple of 54" PLMs. Trying to decide if the softie is different enough to warrant the investment...

Well, I haven't done a lot of real actually field work with it. So I can't really say at this point... This is the biggest softbox that PCB makes, and I can see why. It's quite heavy to fasten onto the faceplate of the AB units. The quality of light is very nice, and it's very easy to setup and break down.

Do I think I will get a lot of use out of it? Totally. I'm going to bring this and my 54" PLM everywhere I go. I am certain it will pay for itself in due time.
