the sky is blown and so is some of the porch behind him, but I still like this shot. His skin tone might be a little to cool. Eyes are nice and sharp and there seems to be some nice light getting in them. I'm not sure if I should crop this and lose the greenery and posts to the left?

diffuser to the left hand side to help block the mid-morning Texas sun (100 degrees by 10:30 am).

I wish I could have gotten him to look up a little more to get a little more light in his eyes. I think he's skin tone looks good, eyes aren't as sharp as I like them. Is the crop ok? I'm trying to pull back more before I take the shot, I tend to try to fill the frame with the subject.

#3 is posted because I know this is far from "good", I have trouble when posing 3 or more people. It just seems ackward to me. Baby N isn't making eye contact, Momma isn't posed all that great, I should have turned her a little bit more toward Dad. Do the skin tones look ok? I tried to keep everyone looking natural but I think Momma might be a little too pink.

Number 1. I find the bench really distracting but other than that a really cute photo :)

Number 2. I love it! Great photo and the prop really adds to it:) Maybe the same photo but him looking to the camera would of been nice too?

Number 3. I really like it, I see what you mean about the awkwardness of it but I am a beginner so maybe someone else will be able to help as I cant see anything wrong :)

Thanks!

I couldn't move the bench, it's bolted to the patio. I tried, lol. This is a local City Park, I did clone out the "donated by" plaque that was on the bench. lol

#1 is just terrific. It is very sharp and lends itself to a bit of really nice and easy fixing on the full res image. I think the main problem is that there is too much empty space in the middle. Just mask the right side and part of the floor (feathering that) and slide it over to the left to make is 4 x 5 aspect ratio. Then lighten and area sharpen the baby to give him some pop and darken and defocus the building at the back just a bit and it will look terrific. THis has the baby and right side moved a bit. Now the composition is much tighter and the baby really commands the image, I think

IMO, #2 is a miss. I think your POV is too high
#3 can look great. Lighten above their waist and darken below and outside the door frame. (and center them in the frame left to right)

thanks! I didn't even think about moving the right side over, also thanks for the pointers on #3. I'll give it a go using your idea of lighting the top and darken the bottom.
