Don't know why but the guy in the 4th kinda looks like he's from Assasin's Creed :lol:

I would say 1 and 2 are a little overexposed but apart from that, I good set.

I think these are not good examples of street photography.
If you want a long explanation why I think so. I'll write it.

OK. The first two are essentially snaps of guys who look like they aren't doing so well in life. The first has little detail and certainly no connection with the viewer except the idea of being poor or homeless. It is essentially poverty porn.

The second includes some other things in the frame but there is no connection either visually or conceptually between the person and the information board.

The third is of firemen (?) looking out of the picture at something. There's no connection with anything.

The fourth is one guy walking away and another guy looking off to one side - with no hint of why we should be interested in this or what you saw.

The fifth is essentially the same - three people dong everyday stuff, not good technically and no idea of what you were thinking when you took this picture. What should interest us about this particular slice out of life?

#2 is holding an Ipod or Iphone - He's doing better than I am in life.

A few okay points but I have to give some feedback.

#1 - Just one of the people I passed that day. I saw him drawing a picture and it looked pretty cool so I stopped to talk to him for a minute. He was happy to share his artwork with me. I then asked if I could take his pic he said okay. But it was obvious after about 5 seconds that he wasnt comfortable with the idea. So I only got one picture. As for your last comment, I take pictures of all types of people I see on the streets from the rich and famous to the down and out. He is no different from a man in an armani suit.

#2 - as mentioned the man has a iphone, with a holster, and a wave cap. HE IS NOT HOMELESS!

#3 - Construction workers, not firemen.

#4 - Just normal people doing normal things.

#5 - Just normal people doing normal things.

I do agree that my subject matter is not always profound. These are normal people doing normal mundane things. Its not everyones cup of tea but people have told me they like how I capture the normal stuff like this.

I understand what you are saying but the point that I was trying to make is that there has to be more to an effective photo than a random view of the world.
I think that the viewer has to get some hint of the photographer's intent in taking that photo.
Why is this particular slice out of life interesting or important?
What attracted your eye to snap this and to convert it and post it.
I don't mean there has to be a story but there has to be something that makes this slice different and the viewer should be able to see what that is.

The photo of the girls is pretty good. It's typical street life but in the first place girls are nice to look at, and in the second place there seems to be something going on. The 2 on the left are looking kind of intently at the one on the right, who is doing something with her phone. Is she taking a picture of them? Has she just gotten email saying all three are fired? There's a little drama here, something we can maybe attach our own narrative to. That's always a good thing.
