Nice photo's! Can i ask you... do you crop in very tight in post or are those photo's tight straight out of the camera? And how do you achieve such a good exposure on the RWBB?

Thank you some of my photos are cropped in alot and others not so much of a crop i very rarely ever dont crop a photo which red winged black birf the head shot or the full body shot

Both. I've shot a few the past couple weeks and they all come out REALLY black against the sky. I can lighten them up some in post but they aren't great. Especially when the sun is not shining directly on them.

Both. I've shot a few the past couple weeks and they all come out REALLY black against the sky. I can lighten them up some in post but they aren't great. Especially when the sun is not shining directly on them.
The first one i lifted the shadows in post the second i guess it must have been my settings you can view the exif on my flickr i use spot metering i think that one was around 1/500 or 1/400 F5.6 and i guess that if it is a cloudy day and the background is brighter then the red winged black bird it may under expose the red winged black bird trying to properly expose the background but i am not sure
