I have learned that 5 to 10 % of the world population suffer from stereoscopic blindness. It means that the binocular neurones, responsible for the perception of depth have never developed in their brains. These people have a flat 2D vision.

So statistically there must be a lot of these guys and girls here on TPF as we'll. Probably it explains why some photographers can not grasp some basic simple things like perspective and DoF.

Even if it is just 5 % - it is 1 in 20. That's a lot.

Where does your 5% to 10% numbers come from?

I've seen a range quoted by different 'experts' of from 2% to 12% of the worlds population having stereoblindness.
That's a not very definitive spread of percentages.
I tend to believe the 2% more than the 12% myself.

It is my understanding that color blindness is more common.
