Hmmm... obviously the way we kayak is different, as when I do it, it's a wet sport, and the only camera I trust under those circumstances is my waterproof D10. That said, I love #4. Care to share what you were shooting with, and where you took those images?

Haha not many rapids around here, I wish though! It was on a lake earlier this morning near my house in GA. It was still pretty sketchy at times with a big heavy camera trying to not tip over haha. They were taken with a Canon 20d with a Tamron 200-500 mounted on a tripod.

I have read that in a kayak, a person can get VERY close to much wildlife...what's your experience WRT to the truth of that statement???

You can definitely get very close. They are very quiet and you can go through pretty shallow water, especially on a calm day. A guy on youtube named Colin Knight does so awesome photography from his!

You must be in a different part of Georgia than I am. My front yard ends on a lake, but there are gators I like numbers 3 and 6.

Thanks! I'm in middle ga, there has been a couple gators in this lake, but for the most part its too cold.
