He was sitting down in the creek bed on that branch, I have not found many out in the wild before that close to the ground, usually, most of them are in the trees.

nice images, I like the #2 and in my opinion frog would look better cropped ... those out of focus trunks don't make it better even with paper-thin DoF .. btw, it's more usual that macro and semi-macro shots are taken with mid AP rather than open wide (eg 2.8 Vs 8)
