Some sunrise pictures

The one with the Red Giant I used optical zoom, but I think it still is OK; the other was with standard zoom. Tried on the "sunset" setting. Kind of dull, but OK I think. Any suggestions?

Canon Powershot sx10 is the camera - really enjoying it so far.

i have an sx10is that i use sometimes (its great for macro and sometimes for night photos)

anyways these are pretty over exposed, if its not that you've zoomed waaaaay to far into the sun.

do some reading up on composition, light metering, and white balance. i know you're kind of limited to what you can do do with your sx10, but zooming out to catch the horizon with the sun cropped right of left will give you a much more pleasing photo, also look up rule of thirds.
