Sony A350 exposure compensation in manual?

Hey guys,
im having some problems playing around with EV settings in manual mode. I push the designated button to allow me to alter the exposure compensation, but when i turn the dial it doesnt work. If i put the camera in P-mode it allows me to play with the compensation...

Any ideas? Is it suppose to be like that?

Sounds like it. On thanon systems, you cannot manupulate exposure compensation in manual mode. Only flash compensation can me adjusted in manual mode. Sony may be the same.
