Sony Cybershot DSC F828

I am a graphic designer.... I am being offered a sony cybershot dsc f828 for $400. i am new to photography.... not trying to be a photo pro but to where i can use the photos for work. is this worth it? i know there are better cameras but this is going to be a payoff from previous work. but would like to know if it's worth it or if i should just decline. any comments greatly appreciated.

I found it (used) from Adorama (very good camera store) for $299.

I probably wouldn't buy a non-SLR digital camera for that much money. You can get an actual DSLR (new) for around $450.
