Doesn't look that spectacular on the surface.....

Used? New?

Actuation count?

In my neck of the woods, a used D90 in decent condition with low actuation count is $500 - $600 max. The 18-55 can be had pretty cheap too. All things considered, I would be amazed if this kit sold for a grand, seeing as you can get it's big brother (D7000) with the 18-105 kit lens with almost all the same extras for only $200 more.

New.

But I don't know what the used market brings down under, so you might want to do a little more digging. You could find the same deal for hundreds less.

If this is all NIB (new in box) it's an okay deal. Definitely not a great, or even a good one. If you separate the wheat from the chaff, all you're getting is a D90 and two consumer-grade lenses. If it's used, than it's about 1/3 too high.

Yeah brand new.. not sure about the actuation count. I'm not really looking for a new camera.. just wanted to know if this was any good.

I'm iffy with the deal. Looks alright, depending on what you already have, and the condition of the lenses and body.

The D90 is on sale now ($100) at BH Photo and sells for $799, new. Considering the lenses you listed are kit lenses, they are good to start with, but probably the first think you want to upgrade. Hell, for $1100, you can get a D90 NEW with an 18-105 lens from BH

For $1200, you can get a D7000 new. Throw on a 50mm and you are way better off with that to start than the above "deal". I'm not a Nikon shooter, not up to date on their technology and where they are in their product line

Yeah brand new.. not sure about the actuation count.

At that point, should be zero.

Still not a real enticing deal. Not even a little.

If you aren't in the market to buy a camera, leave it where you found it.

The AF 70-300mm lens is a low quality (CPOS) lens that has a Nikon USA MSRP of $170. Nikon's USA MSRP for the AF-S 18-55 lens is $199.

Everything you listed is standard sypplied gear except the 70-300, the memory card, the extra un-needed screen protect, and the battery.

Also note, Nikon's warranty is not transferable.

The deal is a ripoff at $1204.93 USD.

Agreed. I wouldn't touch that for 1200. I recently got a refurbed D90 from Cameta with 600 actuations for $649. Thing was cherry. 1 year warranty, all documentation and cables. Do something similar and add a 50mm 1.8 and maybe even an 18-55 vr and you'd be in better shape IMO.
