The light is beautiful. Pretty girl. I like the framing. But her hand looks awkward and her expression looks something between "huh?" and stoned, not sure.

Could you explain what you mean by 'overdone' ? There has been no smoothing whatsoever, as for colour (if that's what you mean by 'overdone'), she is Italian and Arabian and was shot less than an hour before sunset ...

Had a strange moment yesterday: Looked through TPF on my phone for a while, read this post. Then opened my book (a Bourne novel by Eric VonLustbader) and one page later read that Soraya means 'princess' in Farsi.

Weird.

As for the pic, I think it's pose and expression that hurt it the most. Would love to see a re-shoot.

I love her eyes, very seductive. Crop is a little tight but otherwise I'm not seeing issue.

it looks like it was over-smoothed in pp. if this is her natural skin tone, then you as the photographer should make some adjustments in pp to tone it down.

Not the best expression. Plus I wouldn't crop at the elbows. I'd go higher or lower.

Such adjustments have been made; I meant to keep that impression of the 'golden hour' as it is the whole point of shooting just before sunset without it being too intrusive. I shot a RAW file then set the white balance at 5,000 ...
