I knew the title might be perplexing to some, that curiosity sparked as a matter of perspective. The feathers depicted are that of an in tight shot of the wing of a male Ring-necked pheasant. The reference to South Dakota is based in that state being the premier location / destination in all of North America for pheasant hunters.

Interestingly, I have posted this same image as titled on websites focused on hunting and the reference made to South Dakota was clearly understood.

If anything, the image is thought provoking for some.
