Yeah man! The garden spider or writer spider's web is really interesting--I do not think I have ever seen a web like that before. A very nice rendering of both the spider and its web on that second shot. Well done.

In my area, September is "spider month".

Thanks polymoog & Derrel, much appreciated.

I find it fascinating that both of you are more intrigued with the garden spider. Myself, I find the orb weaving of the barn spider a bit more interesting, but then again, I see the garden spiders quite often.

Thanks again for your comment.

For the rest of you 80+ that have looked without comment........... :er:

pic 2 is really good ;)

Forget even being remotely near that second pic. Good pic though

I like the second one - Do they have them in NY?

I guess you missed my thread titled Shelob.:lol::lol: :lmao:

I'm really surprised someone out of the 80+ viewers hasn't made a comment on the reference. As usual, the book is better than the movie, but gotta say the movie(s) were pretty damn good.

i love the first pic

Chances are......... thanks.

I like both of them. The Garden Spider especially. What lens did you use on these? I've got a couple odd looking spiders in my garden that I've been trying to photography with extremely limited success due to lack of proper glass.

Thanks ben, much appreciated......

I used the 105mm f/2.8 for these, but not in macro ratio. I was leaning over the railing on #1 and was ~8-10' from the web. #2 was a bit closer at ~4' from the web.

Did I mention I was suffering with a bout of tequila from the night before? Even with VR activated, .....................
