Stacking and stictching

This is the first time I have tried this and I wish I had put it on something different for the base.
I created a stack of the head and of the rear and then stitched them together

Nice result! I've wanted to do a stitch and stack myself, though never had the subject/setup ready to really do it justice. A great subject here in the stick insect and great that it held still long enough to let you get two stacks and stitching to work so well - even a tiny bit of wind or breathing over the subject can mess up a complex series of shots like this.

Exposure might be a little dark perhaps, levels might also take out a touch of the colourhaze (though brightening it up might be all that's needed)

Thanks, I will have to try that sometime. The problem with stick insects is that if you keep them in a cage when you remove them they start moving.
Also (true for wild specimens as well) they often move a little bit and you take 20+ photos and realize that the antennae have been moving.
I really want to try this for crickets which have long antennae (probably just stitching though).

Yeah I've done the same even my own breathing being near has caused antenna or hairs to move around and blur for a stack. Some insects even react to flash - I've seen hornets (too cold to move or fly) who will twitch their heads and clearly react to every shot.
