Sweet!
I find this a very pleasing picture, lots of subtleties in it, the best one is the opposing corners - the bottom left pilaster base vs the top right column cornice.
Another is the change of light halfway up the stairs, right on the peak of the curve.
I really do like this, and wish it was MINE (the photo and the stairs)!!

Thanks Rob. Good observations but it caught me too. I have the photo but getting the stairs is the hard part....

Very nice stairs with good light. I find the window at the top distracting. I tried a little window-scroll crop and liked it better. You lose the right cornice, but I think having both bases still keeps it balanced.

I love the overall softness of the photo, contrasted by the dark railing on the staircase. Visually a very pleasing image.

Yup, that's what I'm talking about. Now the rail keeps drawing my attention back rather than the bright square of light.

I was having issues with the blown out window, and did a crop almost exactly like this. Now you'll get my thumbs up :thumbup:.
For me the opposing corners wasn't worth the blown out window.

I wasn’t digging the original due to the window, but the crop is a whole new image.

I know you have to take the opportunities you’re given, but I can’t help but wonder what this staircase would look like under an eerie artificial light with a long exposure. I’m thinking dramatic shadows and maybe even a bit of a warm color cast to make it look like candlelight. :O

Anyway, just thinking out loud. Nice photo!
