Runnah, part of me likes this as is but my first reaction was b&w. Did you try that? I gave it a quick go and dropped the exposure too. Will delete if you don't care for it.

Well you know --- simple mind.... lol. No, I'm at work and don't have access to LR or CC, I did this with the photoshop.com editor, so it's really limited.

It is easy, just what I thought of when I first saw it. Do you have nik collection or silver efex pro? Use the preset on there that is old faded look to it.

lol, I understand. I got them when I was using LR with PSE. But now that I have CC, I don't use them as much. Although, I haven't tried to do a b&w conversion in PS yet. (May have check this out now).

Oh no, that B&W will never do. How about this...

Well, I tinkered with the color version in Photoshop CC.

Added a contrast layer and increased the contrast
A color balance layer and pulled toward the yellow to warm it up a bit (maybe a little purple, color balance?)
Then a selective color layer to push the greens in the grass and cyans in the uniform.

I like the early photo style - even though the scenario looks to be about 50 to 75 years too early for photography.
(3 min rough conversion on a Jpeg)

I used the Antique Light preset, adjusted the exposure, added noise and a light vignette. Great minds think alike
(...and before anyone says it - "Fools seldom differ.")

I went for the old tintype look.
