Awww come on, give me some will ya The colours and details in these Jay's I just love. Excellent shots and those last two Brian, love the head turn and eye contact, very nice to see.

I especially like those last two shots. Stellar's Jays are so cool looking; definitely on my list of birds I'd like to see in my lifetime, but I'd have to travel a bit west to have any hopes of it--to at least New Mexico, it looks like. That'd be about like you driving to the far side of Ontario for a bird.
So for now, I'll just have to enjoy yours.

Are Stellar's Jays as obnoxious as Blue Jays? Our Blue Jays are beautiful birds, but they can also be big bullies. My grandmother, who absolutely adored birds and always had feeders and birdbaths out so she could watch her birds, hated Blue Jays because she just considered them big bullies. Even at 90 years old, you could visit and find her watching her birds, with the window open and her giant, 40-ft. reach water blaster gun by her side. Every time a Blue Jay came anywhere near her feeders, BAM!! she'd blast 'em with a shot of water, cursing at them the whole time.

I only have one feeder and all the birds seem to get along fairly well. Each breed seems to squabble among themselves more than bully others. The squirrels on the other hand...
Might have to get one of those water blasters
