You need to go a bit farther south...

We have hummingbirds all day every day!

They are sparse here. I am growing flowers to attract them and nectar feeders. When you said go a little farther south - Then I looked and you are in Belize. that is farther south and Fort Lauderdale. Tell yours that I have a great free lunch of nectar and fruit flies for them.

We're around 18 degrees north of the equator and Ft. Lauderdale is about 26 degrees north...

I have a feeder and a Lantana and I get Cinnamon, Green-Breasted Mango, and White-Bellied Emerald hummingbirds although only the Cinnamon goes to the feeder, the others ignore it. I had never see any of them before moving here, it was always the Ruby-Throated hummingbird. I believe those will pass through as they migrate but I have not seen them yet.
I'll mention your buffet to "mine" but I suspect they will take the easy way out and simply stick around.

Good luck spotting and have fun.

I'm just outside of Gainesville, and I have only seen 1 Ruby Throated this year. That was 7 days ago.

They do migrate, expected here in mid North Carolina sometime the first week of April.
