This one kind of reminds me of one of those micro robots - somehow it doesn't look real - more like it rolled off a Chinese production line. Out of curiosity, roughly how big are these?

thanks for all the comments. They are pretty cool flys. This is only the second one that has given me a photo op. They are about an inch long.

Doenoe- You must get a book. It makes shooting them all the more fun! Once you browse the book, you'll see insects that you actually will go hunting for. Fun stuff!!!
