I'm thinking the covering is just to protect against the weather and UV rays and stuff. It does make it look pretty dern unique. Nice shots.

I am guessing that the makeshift covering was due to the weather. It kept threatening to rain, would sprinkle, then the sun would shine.

After really looking at the unedited version of this photo, I think that April is pretty accurate, because it really looks as if his (bass?) has been through hell and back!
