What's new

Street/Urban in B/W - C & C Welcome

I like the first image the best. It give a great feel and sense of being old. A step into the past.

I believe the a bit of extra contrast or saturation of color take an image to a new level. For me it's not about another photographer taking a liking to my work. It's about that person who looking at it on a wall and stops to take an extra look because it catches the eye in some way.

5 & 6 I also like the composition and contrast of the images.

Great job!

Number one looks good as it is. people there intentional?

Thanks everyone. The folks in #1 were just passing by when I was taking the photo.

I dont like any of them.. sorry. I think mostly because of the processing.

1. Would be better with less of a vignette, perhaps even just slightly less contrast-y.

2. Nothing of any real interest. The kid just seems to be staring off into space.

3. The guy on the left hand side of the frame kind of made me chuckle. However, he really doesn't tie in with the rest of the photo (from what I can tell)

4. Angle... Just isn't my thing.

5. Doesn't tickle my fancy either...

6. Pretty funny shot I must say. That guy is really chowing down on that sandwich. And that freakishly stereotyped mascot of sometime is cheering him on. NOM NOM!

7. I like the scene of this photo a lot. At least in terms of the width of the pathway, I just wish the people both were doing things more interesting than just j'n'o very mundanely. It would be an interesting spot to camp out at and people watch with a telephoto lens for a while.

8. Doesn't sink my sub. There are lots of cabs around that hang out doing cabbie-things off duty or between calls.

I usually like your sets quite a bit, but this one was a little weak. Sometimes people just go through ruts though. I know I have. Keep shooting.

I really like 1 & 7. I like your style overall though, I didn't think they were too overly contrasty, when looking at them, it was clear that was your style. I have the hardest time processing b&w b/c I just can't get it quite the way I want it.

Thanks. I wonder if it might be a monitor issue. I remember seeing one of my photos on a friend's computer and was surprised at how different it looked from my own computer. Anyway, I'll be taking a bit more care in the future with the contrast.
