Taken a few weeks ago, at my granddaughter's high school graduation, in an ancient theater across from the Bradbury Building in Los Angeles. I saw this as a color shot until just a few minutes ago, and now am convinced it works better as a black and white.
Anthony Quinn, on the Victor Clothing sign, was despite, his fame playing Zorba the Greek, a Mexican-American, of Irish and Mexican heritage. His original name was Manuel Antonio Rodolfo Quinn Oaxaca, and his father, an Irish immigrant from County Cork to Mexico, rode with Pancho Villa. That makes the sign perfect for downtown Los Angeles.
