studio portraits

so i've made my first studio experience a couple of days ago, and here are a few results.

What type of light setup did you use? I can't tell if you had one behind the models or not......trying to learn portrait lighting myself...

I'm terrible at representing what I say, but I think one bare flash from behind would help a lot. If you gave the ones with the black background some "rim light" it would help seperate the subject from the background.
