Hey everyone! I just got done building a 18'x16' studio in a local warehouse. I do tons of portraiture. I need some reccomendations on what color I should paint the walls. I was told to do it a meduim gray but I'd love to do it black. What do you guys think? Any advice?

Thanks!

I would agree with the medium gray. You don't use the walls as a background...but you want them to reflect a neutral light when flashes and strobes and whatnot reflect off it.

We took my old Kodak 18% gray card to Lowe's and had then match it. I also had them tint the primer a little lighter so the finish pint would cover better. We used flat interior wall paint. Flood it with light, you have high key, the inverse is obviously true as well. We painted everything that didn't move including the ceiling.
