Stupid Sigma

I bought a sigma 18-125mm lens recently and I'm very happy with it...except for the fact that I constantly seem to be trying to turn the zoom ring the wrong way. So I took a look at my main use lens....Sigma 50-500mm and discovered that the zoom ring turns the opposite way....WTF!!!

Why can't sigma have all their lenses working the same way? I'm going to get so totally confused now
