20201013124924_IMG_1306~2.jpg This Sun 24mm lens is the result of a search for a wider lens than my 28mm I have been using. I like using the legacy manual focus lenses and a big part of the fun for me is the search. My criteria are 1. Used 2. Very good to excellent condition. 3. Manual focus 4. Any mount I can adapt to my canon 77d. 5.priced right

Name brand is not a big issue for me. I like reading the reviews and finding the sleeper lens most people overlook. My first wide angle prime lens is a spiratone 28mm f2.8 that I got on fleabay. I read every review I could find (which weren't many) and I wasn't disappointed. I've taken many very nice landscape photos with it. I have posted a review of this lens in this forum.

Over time I realized I needed a wider lens and started another search. This search led me to two different lenses . A tamron 24mm f2.8 and this sun 24mm f2.8. So I bought the sun lens even tho there weren't many reviews. Two hours later the tamron came up so I bought it also reasoning I could resell one of the two.

The tamron was delivered first and was defective so I arraigned for a return. I was not to be disappointed however. The sun lens was delivered two days later and was way better than advertised. It has a focal range of just under a foot (.25m) to infinity. The aperture is 2.8 to 16. I am delighted with this lens! I have only taken a few pics under cloudy conditions but color, saturation, clarity is great! It is solid all metal build. Focus is very smooth and the aperture ring has clicks every 1 1/2 stops. The only downside is the aperture ring is slightly recessed and toward the back so for me is sightly awkward. I am not a professional but I do like my lenses, especially this one.

I like your first photo. It would be more dramatic, highlighting the beautiful nature, if you cropped the top down to create a panorama.
I like your philosophy on add lenses to your collection too.

Thanks for your reply. I never thought to do a crop. I agree it would have helped but was just so enthused about my new lens. I will be trying to capture the fall colors this coming week. And will post more pics.

Looks like it'll do the job to me. Enjoy.
